EverShield Mask Technologies Ltd. is a manufacturer of a long-lasting self-sanitizing triboelectric face mask. With the use of next-generation technology solutions, the company will be solving the current pain points of the people wearing an ordinary mask. It will be using electrospinning technology in the production of the fabric for filtration. Further, the filtration mechanism will be using electric discharge for filtering the harmful germs. The support/middle layer is a highly efficient layer, which is Tribo-electropositive. It will capture the generated negative ions. The outer two layers of the respirator act as protection against the outside environment as well as a barrier for anything in the wearer’s exhalations. Hence, the newly built masks will have high air permeability, breathability, and a better usage rate.
Problems That We Work On
- Dissipation of electrostatic charge in a humid environment (moist human breath) reduces the filtration efficiency.
- Low air permeability of N95 masks leads to breathing problems (O2 reduction by 20%).
- Re-use of N95 masks is possible via various techniques, such as sterilization & high-level disinfection.
- High financial & environmental costs.
N95-rated masks are made of:
- External layer: Preventing the penetration of moisture
- Middle layer : The main filter
- Innermost layer : Minimizing the exposure of main filter to the exhaled breath
Filtration mechanisms of N95 masks:
- Removing large particles from air streamlines using pores.
- The electrostatic attraction between particles and fibers. (the key separation mechanism)
- The electrostatic mechanism is only active for few hours.
- The fiber size made by melt-blowing method is too large.
(Leading to a larger pore size and a lower level of virus rejection)
- Regeneration of N95 masks is not possible.
- After use, the mask surface cannot be decontaminated.
(Virus contamination stays on the mask forever)
- The moisture permeation deactivates the electrostatic charge of the middle-layer.
(N-95 masks do not last long in humid environment)

- Our solution is to produce a long-lasting self-sanitizing mask.
- It is produced by electrospinning method.

- The mask is humidity-proof using an extremely water-repellent polymer coating.
- Environmentally-friendly due to the notable reduction in the number of masks each persons wastes.
